"Every man prays in his own language, and there is no language that God does not understand." - Duke Ellington
Ellington called the First, Second and Third Sacred Concerts his most important musical work. Written near the end of his life, the music is a soulful, jazzy and deeply felt religious journey through a huge variety of African-American musical styles.
Scored for full choir, soloists, big band, tap dancers and narrator, this is a chance to experience one of the twentieth century's great musical works, an epic performance featuring more than a hundred performers. Don't miss it.
